Advanced Developments in Military Technology

Based on global trends, increasing tensions continue to occur in various hot-spots leading to increased urgency in military research and development for either attack or anti-attack systems. Most countries consistently increase their annual budget to accommodate their capacity to create new tech armors, weapons, gears, and forecasts have even revealed that there will be larger budgets in the coming years. Mostly university labs and small tech startups are poised with the next spec of weapons to discover and create defense purposes. This group of people displays unrivaled innovation and commitment to technologies that will protect our ground, water, and air space. Very remarkably, the work we should look out for by Defense Advanced Research Project Agency in partnership with various labs and private organizations are as follows;

Autonomous Submarine Hunter

One of its latest is the Sea Hunter, an unmanned surface vehicle whose job is to monitor and observe activities in and within the seashore. With increased interests, countries are deploying even ultra-quiet designs that can covertly stay at the shore. It can be understood as a water-based drone that can trail submarines for a long time with significantly reduced human interfacing. Its synthetic vision systems, equipped with sonar and radar, help it navigate seamlessly through narrow channels autonomously.

Laser Cannon

This weapon has always been more of sci-fi, but recent developments show that it will soon become a reality. And when it does, it will be used to intercept long-range enemy missiles, drones, or incoming mortar shells; more so, it will be used to protect ships against attacks from small boats and drones. Most interesting is that when operational, it can be used multiple times and repeatedly to fire at threats at a minimal cost.

Self-Diverging Bullets

With on-going developments, bullets will have the ability to steer themselves towards their targets with accurate precision. They have tiny sensors capable of causing the bullets to change their course midair and hit their targets with ease. Even though there is no certainty about their costs they are cheaper than the rocket propelled missiles that are been substituted for in some occasions.

Ship an Aircraft Carrier

There is a budding eagerness for ships to commence aerial surveillance while at sea so that their carriers can have fleets of helicopters, planes, and very likely drones. Although unmanned aerial vehicles have been in use by carrier groups, the challenge has been launching and retrieving them from the high and extremely turbulent seas. But with the Tactically Exploited Reconnaissance Node program, they aim to achieve the ease of aircraft taking off and landing on its tail at sea.

Satellite Melter

One significant way of removing an enemy satellite from orbit is by melting it. This latest satellite design will be made to hunt and track a rival’s defense satellite. Its operation pattern will utilize fundamental Physics whereby a continuous sunbeam will be reflected on the satellite over some time – likely weeks until it’s heated enough to enable it to fall off so that it burns off as it enters our stratosphere.

Extra-Stealthy Bomber

This is a low-observable, strategic, long-range, heavy bomber whose capacity to penetrate very sophisticated and heavy air-defense shields. Its design features will be long-range, total stealth, high speed, and heavy bomb cargo capacity. They will have stealthy skin with hardened reflective material capable of avoiding radar and camouflaging in any found environment. The bomber will have high precision guidance, and its gyroscopes will be of military high grade.

Plasma Protection Field

A plasma field is a system that will protect vehicles or tanks from blast damage. This can be achieved if an ionized airfield or force field is created around the vehicle to block an impending blast. A sensor detects the shockwave-producing events and identifies their direction and distance; then a laser induced plasma fields will be produced to protect the asset.
